Letter from Anderson to his son, Willie, written while Anderson was employed aboard the U.S.S. Vanderbilt in San Francisco harbor. He encourages Willie to do well in school, asks for a reply to his letters, and explains when he might be expected to return home. The letter is written on two pictorial lettersheets printed with engravings of views along San Francisco Bay.
